Fall reading sprint — harvest celebration
Today marked the end of the reading sprint, a competition between grades to see who could read the most pages.
The competition ran from Oct. 12 to 20, and the reading tree’s branches are now weighed down with leaves the children hung each time they turned in a book they had read.
The children did exceptionally well, reading a total of 36,277 pages.
Grade 2 won its matchup against grade 1, reading 122 pages per student.
In the contest against grade 4, grade 3 claimed victory with 205 pages per student.
Grade 6 defeated grade 5, logging 226 pages per student.
In the upper primary division, grade 9 came out on top, reading 153 pages per student.
We are incredibly proud of the students’ hard work and enthusiasm.
