Joy and diversity on display at Fellaskóli's 2nd grade cultural fair

Celebration and good cheer filled Fellaskóli recently as 2nd grade students hosted their cultural fair. Students welcomed others into their worlds, sharing their backgrounds and showing what brings them the greatest joy in life.

The cultural fair supports a broader effort to celebrate diversity within the school community and strengthen student bonds. The classroom became a vibrant exhibit, with each student setting up a table filled with personal mementos, photos, and stories.

Showing what makes them shine

Engaged visitors — including parents and fellow students — browsed the tables to get a firsthand look at their classmates' diverse cultural backgrounds and experiences. The main draw, however, was how each student's unique interests and personal sources of joy had room to truly shine.

The fair offered something for everyone:

  • Family treasures: Beautiful traditional clothing, flags, and objects connected to students' heritage and family roots.
  • This is where I shine: Drawings, award ribbons, hobby gear, and pet photos — everything that makes students' eyes light up with excitement and passion.

A community built on friendship and understanding

The cultural fair offered a vivid reminder that Fellaskóli is home to an exceptionally talented and enthusiastic group of young students. The day left lasting memories, a deeper mutual understanding, and an even tighter-knit community among 2nd graders.

A heartfelt thank-you to everyone who helped out and joined us for this wonderful occasion!
